Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is preparing to roll out the third phase of the SUBHADRA Yojana, a welfare scheme focused on women’s empowerment. As part of this phase, funds amounting to ₹5,000 per eligible beneficiary will be credited to recipients’ bank accounts in the coming days. Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced this initiative, aimed at supporting women in the state, especially those who may have missed out in previous phases.
The SUBHADRA Yojana initially launched with a target to reach one crore women beneficiaries across Odisha. This phase aims to continue that commitment, providing essential financial assistance directly to beneficiaries, particularly those facing economic hardships.
Details on the Distribution Process
Deputy CM Pravati Parida explained that this upcoming round of disbursements would be focused on individuals who completed the application process in time but were unable to receive funds previously. Furthermore, to ensure comprehensive coverage, local Anganwadi and Panchayat officials are verifying beneficiary information to streamline fund distribution.
To apply, beneficiaries are encouraged to complete all formalities as outlined by local authorities. Those who submitted applications on or before the deadline are prioritized for the upcoming payout, which is expected to reach thousands of recipients over the next few weeks.
Expanding the Reach of the Scheme
The Odisha government has committed to increasing the reach of the SUBHADRA Yojana. Women across the state are encouraged to apply, as additional funds are earmarked to cover those who missed initial phases. This targeted approach aligns with the government’s vision of uplifting women’s social and economic status.
Additionally, the Deputy CM mentioned that the scheme’s fourth phase is already in the planning stages, set to commence on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2025. This rollout will further strengthen the government’s commitment to women’s welfare and development.
Government’s Commitment to Women’s Empowerment
The SUBHADRA Yojana represents the Odisha government’s ongoing efforts to promote financial stability for women, especially in rural areas. The scheme provides timely support and encourages participation from all eligible women, reinforcing the administration’s long-term goal of inclusive economic development across the state.
With this initiative, the Odisha government reaffirms its dedication to reducing financial disparity and empowering women through direct support. Beneficiaries are advised to stay in contact with local authorities for updates on their eligibility status and to ensure timely receipt of funds.
